VBS

Recently a group from Tomoka Christian Church came to help with Vacation Bible School at the local church that we attend in San Vicente. Each of our houses were able to participate each morning through early afternoon. It was a great time of singing, memorization, games, team building, food, and stories. We had children from a very young age around 3-4 all the way to mid teens. There were various ‘family groups’ consisting of specific ages. Each group had a group leader and helpers consisting of local church members and someone from the Tomoka church group. The theme of the week was realizing that we are all princes and princesses because of our relationship with God. It was amazing to see so many kids all week. Each day there were between 200-300 children who arrived from the community and other churches. Some of the children walked there, some were brought by parents, and some were picked up by church members in vans. The children were able to sing worship songs and recite scripture by the end of the week. They also had made new friends and realized that Jesus loved them. It was such a great week that none of us wanted it to end. The local children and the children from our homes are already looking forward to next year’s VBS.

PREPA Graduation Celebration

On July 26th, we celebrated the graduation of 13 of our students from high school (PrepaNET).  We held a formal dinner with roast beef, lamb, and all the trimmings.  Encouraging words were shared with each of our students from some of our ministry partners in the United States.  The principal and vice-principal from the PrepaNET school also joined us for the evening to encourage the students.  After the formal items of the evening, and many shed tears of joy, we ended with a mariachi band, music, and some harmless dancing.  It was a great time of celebration for everyone who attended.  We are very proud of all our students and what they have acccomplished in their studies.
