Dear Praying Friends,
Job Benjamin UPDATE: We wish we could tell you we have received word that the government is going to allow Job to continue living at Niños. However, we have not heard back from them as of yet; not anything! Our staff continues to love and care for Job and pray for favor on behalf of the government. We will let you know when the situation changes.
This decision is based on Mexican Adoption Laws that state, due to his age, that Benjamin has the right to be placed for adoption. Such facilities are not equipped to care for the number of children within the system, and will not offer Benjamin the kind of love and protection we are able to provide him at Niños.
The final outcome of his ability to be adopted is uncertain and could be a very long process, during which time, Benjamin will be passed through the system until he is either adopted or too old to be adopted, and will then be placed back into the Mexican Child Services. Pray for Benjamin, and pray for all of us, as the children, staff and house parents, Santiago & Lupita, are experiencing a night of great grief in the thought of the unknown and losing the little guy.
We have requested that Benjamin be placed in a Christian home, and we were told that this was both a discriminating request and against state laws. Our prayer is that God will move in the heart of the judge who has authority to change what has gone into effect and that little Benjamin will be returned to his family here at Niños.
We will do everything in our power to legally fight for the custody of little Benjamin, as he is very much a member of our family, and we love him as our own. Pray specifically for little Benjamin’s life, and for the Esperanza Family. The heart of a mother, a father, and many brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, are suffering tonight, and we need your prayers.
In Him,
Your Niños Family
