Graduation

In December, Marcela Romero graduated from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR with a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design. She was able to spend part of the Christmas holiday with her friends and family at the Genesis house. This week she will be moving to Cuernavaca, Morales, Mexico, where she will begin working with a publication company. Oreb Salazar also graduated in December. He finished with a Bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of the Valley of Mexico. Oreb now has a job in Mexico City and is moving to an apartment this week. David Gonzalez finished his licensing in December in order to practice architecture in Mexico. He is making plans to begin his new life as well.

To all those who contributed to the success of Oreb, Marcela, and David, they all offer words of appreciation. We at Niños de México are so excited for these young people. It is our prayer that as many have blessed them that they too will be a blessing to others and the light of Jesus to those around them. Thank you for your past support and faithful prayers for each of them. Pray that other young people at Niños de México would follow in their footsteps.

New Year Changes

In December, Josh and Rachel Gordon returned to the the US after three and half years of service to the children of Mexico. The Gordon family served as substitute house parents, assistants in the school, work group coordinators, maintenance coordinator, and eventually house parents. We are grateful for their friendship and their investment in the lives of so many. We appreciate your prayers for the Gordon family.

Also in December, Santiago and Guadalupe Garcia became the house parents at the Esperanza house. They have been faithful members of the church in San Vicente and good friends to Niños for the past few years. They are doing an excellent job in their new position. Please pray for them as they continue to adjust to this new ministry.

In January, Matt and Tiffany Carmichael moved into a new role as our STM (Short-Term Mission) Hosts. Matt has spent the last year and a half as the Principal of our primary school. Tiffany has assisted with HUGS translation. We are excited for the Carmichaels and their new responsibilities. Thank you for your prayers for them in this new role. Luis and Lorena Escutia also became the dorm parents at the Genesis house. Please pray for them as they get to know the young adults under Niños’ care.

Thank you for your continual prayers for the ministry of Niños de México. May our Lord bless you abundantly.
