Unexpected Expenses

November 27th, 2007

1. Part of our supporting a minister in the remote village of Chilapa involves helping with his transportation. Due to the location, Jorge drives up and out of a deep valley several times a week. This last week his Volkswagon Combi, an old small minivan, needed a major engine overhaul. The overall cost was $800 dollars.

2. When the Genesis and Esperanza homes were initially built there was no city sewer system in place near the property. Septic tanks and lateral fields were installed. There are two tanks at Esperanza and four at Genesis. Some of them are 40 years old. Recently we have had continued problems with the old brick septic tanks and now partially collapsed lateral fields. In order to plan for the future and continued growth of Niños it is necessary to install a sewer line to the street where there is now city sewer. The cost of installation for the main sewer line to the street, which is about 150 yards away, is approximately $3000 dollars. After that we will need to connect each of the homes drainage lines to the new sewer line. We estimate this cost at another $4000 dollars. We need to do this now.

We appreciate your friendship and support through prayer and financial giving. Please consider helping with one of these expenses. If you or someone you know would be able to cover part or all of these expenses it would greatly help offset the rest of this Christmas season’s needs. If you have any questions please contact Mick O’Hanahan at mickohanahan@ninosdemexico.org or our office in Union, Missouri at (636) 583-2000. You can also email me at seththomas@ninosdemexico.org. We trust God will provide as He always has through faithful friends. We need your help.
